Hire or buy

A quick guide to which one fits

Hire makes sense when

  • The job is short, seasonal or one-off
  • You want to trial a machine before committing
  • Your own machine is down and needs cover
  • Capital budget is tight and you want an operating cost

Buying usually wins when

  • The machine runs most days of the week
  • The numbers favour ownership over the machine's life
  • You have a fixed, ongoing cleaning routine

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

How quickly can you deliver a hire machine?
In most of Brisbane and SE QLD we offer same-day or next-day delivery on in-stock machines. Call early for same-day.
One day if you collect the machine from our Brendale warehouse and return it there. If we deliver and collect, the minimum is one week. Longer agreements attract better rates. If you are weighing a longer hire against buying, should you hire or buy a floor scrubber in Brisbane works through the break-even.
Yes. On-site training is included, roughly 30 minutes for a walk-behind and 1 to 2 hours for a ride-on machine. Not sure which format you need? Our walk-behind versus ride-on guide settles it by floor area and aisle width.
Yes. Scheduled servicing and breakdown support are included for the hire period. If a machine fails through normal use, we repair or swap it.

You can, a small consumer machine for about $44 a day, in-store only. It suits a home or one room, not a commercial floor. We compare the two in hiring a floor scrubber at Bunnings versus a specialist in Brisbane.

About $80 to $120 a day for a compact walk-behind scrubber, $120 to $180 for a mid-size and $200 to $400 for a ride-on, with training and breakdown support included. Delivery is charged on top and pickup is free. Weekly and monthly rates work out lower per day. The full bands are in what floor scrubber hire costs in Brisbane.

Yes. Sealed concrete suits a scrubber, bare or textured concrete needs a cylindrical brush instead of a pad, and loose grit needs a sweeper first. Cement dust after a pour or grind is excluded from hire. We match the machine and the deck in which hire machine cleans a concrete floor in Brisbane.

Get a same-day hire quote

Send us the details below so we can recommend a machine for your floor and quote the hire arrangements.

  • Floor and problem: photos, approximate area, surface type and the dirt or debris you need to remove.
  • Access: the narrowest doorway or aisle, ramps, steps, lifts and any weight limits.
  • Cleaning window: when the job needs doing, how long the machine can run and how often the floor needs cleaning.
  • Site facilities: where the machine can be stored and charged, and where it can be filled and drained.
  • Hire dates: the start date and expected duration.
  • Collection or delivery: whether you can collect and return at Brendale or need delivery. Delivered hires have a one-week minimum, with delivery charged separately.

Not sure of the machine type? Start with floor scrubber hire for washing floors or floor sweeper hire for loose debris, then tell us about your site.
