When it comes to industrial sweepers and warehouse floor sweepers, some machines just keep working while others spend more time in the workshop. After servicing hundreds of ride on sweepers and push sweepers, we’ve seen clear patterns in which brands stand the test of time.
This isn’t about brand bashing, it’s practical advice from the field to help you choose the right industrial floor cleaning machine for your dust type, site conditions, and budget.

1. Tennant S10, S20, S30 – The Gold Standard of Industrial Sweepers
Tennant sweepers set the benchmark for reliability and build quality. Whether you’re cleaning a warehouse, factory, or logistics yard, these models rarely miss a beat.
Why They Last
• Heavy-duty steel T frame built from the ground up
• Proven Kubota and GM engines (depending on the model)
• Industry leading dust control and filtration systems
• Strong parts availability and local support across Queensland
What We See in the Field
These units are the workhorses of industrial sweeping. With routine three or six monthly servicing, brush replacements, and filter maintenance, Tennant sweepers can run for years even in the toughest environments.
Best fit: warehouses, logistics yards, and manufacturing sites that demand maximum uptime.

2. Nilfisk 1601 and Large Sweeper-Scrubber Combos
Nilfisk sweepers are a close second to Tennant. They’re robust and well supported with readily available parts.
Why They Last
• Strong steel frames and straightforward layouts
• Effective filtration
• Sensible running costs and competitive spare parts
What We See in the Field
A Nilfisk warehouse sweeper performs well when serviced on time. They handle long shifts and mixed surface environments with ease.
Best fit: manufacturing plants, local councils, and large commercial sites that need reliable performance at a fair price.
⸻
3. Kärcher KM Series and Conquest PB Range
The Kärcher KM 130/300 and KM 150/500, along with the Conquest PB160 and PB180, deliver solid performance but benefit from some early stage setup tweaks.
What to Watch
• Hydraulic hoses can rub on the chassis, leading to leaks, we fix this with spiral wrap and proper routing on each one we touch. But even then they always seem to rub somewhere!
• Front stub axles bend, causing wheel camber and uneven tyre wear.
Bottom Line
With preventive adjustments, these industrial ride-on sweepers can be very reliable. They offer good sweeping coverage for the money.
Best fit: general industrial and commercial sites willing to invest in a little fine tuning early on.
⸻
4. ASC (Australian Sweeper Company)
ASC sweepers are built tough — maybe too tough at times. They’re made to last but can lack refinement in usability.
What to Watch
• Brush pressure adjustments can be fiddly from the factory
• Machines often need setup tweaks for even brush contact
Bottom Line
These Australian-made sweepers can handle abuse and heavy debris but need careful setup for consistent results.
Best fit: industrial yards and workshops where toughness matters more than finesse.
⸻
5. SureSweep – The Problem Child
Unfortunately, SureSweep units often cause more downtime than they save.
What We See
• Frequent electrical and ignition faults
• Poor tolerance to dust (not ideal for sweepers)
• Repeated minor issues that add up in service costs
Bottom Line
We don’t recommend these models. The total cost of ownership ends up far higher than comparable industrial floor sweepers from other brands.

How to Choose the Right Industrial Sweeper
Whether you’re buying new or maintaining an existing warehouse floor sweeper, these factors matter most:
1. Match the Dust
Fine indoor dust needs strong filtration and good sealing. Coarse debris needs simple, open designs and durable brushes.
2. Match the Duty Cycle
Long shifts and outdoor work call for heavy builds like Tennant or Nilfisk. Mixed-use or lighter environments can suit Kärcher or Conquest.
3. Plan Maintenance
Schedule three or six monthly services for brushes, skirts, and filters to prevent costly breakdowns.
4. Think Lifetime Cost
Uptime, spare parts access, and ease of servicing are worth more than the cheapest purchase price.
