Hospitality and Food Service Cleaning Equipment for Brisbane Venues

On this page

In hospitality, the floor is a compliance record. An inspector walking your kitchen is reading the grout, the drain surrounds and the edges under the benches, not the middle of the room where everyone mops.

We service pubs, cafes, restaurants and hotel kitchens across South East Queensland. The equipment that survives that work is a fairly short list.

    What Makes a Kitchen Hard

Grease is the whole problem, and it changes how everything else behaves.

    • Grease bonds to texture. Commercial kitchen floors are deliberately non-slip, which means they are full of valleys for grease to sit in. A mop rides across the top of them.
    • Water alone does nothing to it. You need heat, agitation, or both.
    • The clean window is tiny. Close to open is not long, and half of it is prep.

Front of house has the opposite problem: it looks fine, gets high foot traffic, and shows every mark under downlights.

    Scrubbers for Hard Floors

A floor scrubber puts down solution, agitates under real pressure, and vacuums the dirty water back out. On a textured kitchen floor, the agitation is the part a mop cannot replicate.

Kitchens are tight, so deck width is usually the deciding factor. The i-mop XL Plus gets in behind equipment and around benches where a rigid machine cannot reach. For dining rooms and larger open floors, a walk-behind like the Tennant T300 covers ground faster.

Talk to your supplier about the pad grade for your specific floor. Grease and a soft pad is wasted effort.

Steam for Prep Areas and Everything Awkward

Steam is the tool for the surfaces you cannot flood: benches, splashbacks, extraction canopies, cool room seals, drain surrounds and the grout lines that fail inspections.

The Duplex Jetsteam range handles this, and the Jetvac units steam and vacuum in the same pass so you are lifting the grease out rather than pushing it somewhere else. Heat does the work, which means less chemical in a room where food is prepared.

    Carpet and Soft Furnishings

Dining rooms, function spaces and hotel corridors all carry carpet that gets food, drink and heavy traffic.

Vacuuming maintains it. A carpet extractor is what actually resets it. The Kerrick Sabrina Maxi suits most venue-sized jobs, and for larger floor areas the Riviera covers more ground per fill.

Plan extraction around your quietest trading period. Drying time is real and a damp function room the night before a booking is its own problem.

    Pressure Washers for Outdoors

Beer gardens, loading docks, bin areas and footpaths are where a venue is judged before anyone walks in, and they are the areas most likely to be done with a hose and hope.

Hot water is the difference outdoors. Grease and organic build-up on concrete does not respond to cold pressure alone. Kerrick’s hot water range, including the Hippo Hotshot and the Jumbo Hotshot, is built for this work.

One warning from the bench: a domestic pressure washer will not survive commercial use. They are built for short bursts, and running one for hours on a bin area is how the pump seizes. We wrote about that and the other common pressure washer faults separately.

What the Brisbane Climate Does to a Venue

Two things about trading in South East Queensland change the cleaning brief, and neither shows up in a generic equipment guide.

The wet season runs November to March. Through those months your entry matting, front of house floors and outdoor areas take far more water and tracked-in grit than they do the rest of the year. Venues that scrape through winter on a mop tend to be the ones calling us in February. If you run a beer garden, a footpath dining area or a covered deck, that is the period to have a pressure washer on site rather than booked in.

Humidity works against your equipment. It slows drying times on carpet and soft furnishings, which is worth planning extraction around, and it is hard on batteries. Terminals need checking more often here than they would in a drier climate, and a battery left flat over a humid weekend is a battery you will be replacing early.

The other local factor is simply how spread out the trade is. We deliver, service and repair from stocked vans across Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast, the Gold Coast, Ipswich, Logan, Moreton Bay and Toowoomba, so a venue in Fortitude Valley and a venue in Caloundra get the same same-day response. If a machine goes down mid-service, that response time is the number that matters, not the spec sheet.

Split it by frequency so nothing depends on someone remembering.

    • Daily: scrub kitchen and prep floors, degrease drain surrounds, vacuum front of house.
    • Weekly: steam grout, splashbacks and cool room seals, pressure wash outdoor high-traffic areas.
    • Monthly or quarterly: extract carpet, deep clean bin areas and loading zones.

Keep the record. If an inspection ever goes badly, a written schedule with dates is the difference between a warning and something worse.

    Kitting Out a Venue

Most venues need three or four machines rather than one do-everything unit, and which ones depend on your floor split, your outdoor area and how much carpet you carry.

If you would rather test before you commit, we hire equipment out so you can run a machine through a real trading week first. Otherwise tell us about the venue and we will put a list together.
